Bronze Goddess

7/18/13

Summer is in full swing, and with that comes the perfect "touched by the sun" glow, we love to call a tan. Although my summer days are extremely hot, my summer nights are perfect to whip up a Bronze Goddess look to enhance my tan. Here are a few of the items I may use to get the perfect glow.

During the day I usually skip this step but at night I whip out my bronzy gold highlighters. Sonia Kashuk's illuminating bronzer in Goddess is not for the faint of heart. This product is not lying when it says illuminating so I tend to place this on the tops of my cheeks only. Mac Lustre Drops in Bronze hero is perfect for mixing into your base for an all over glow or just simply placing it where you need. This liquid formula is a bit more subtle than its powder counterpart, but when you turn a certain way it just immediately lights up your face. It's one of those secret weapon products where everyone asks you why your skin looks amazing.

When it comes to my "bronzy" looks my focus is always on my eyes. A nice smoked out bronze cream base and a beautiful eyeshadow on top gives you that effortless "I just came back from Cabo, but not really" look.  Pixi's Lid Last Shadow Pen In Bronze Brilliance and NYX's Jumbo Pencils in Bronze and French Fries are all great for easy application and blending out with a fluffy brush. Maybelline's Bad to the Bronze and MAC Constructivist Pain Pot are also good options. For eyeshadow I always reach for MAC's Bronze and Woodwinked, beautiful golden brown colors that give a wonderful dimension to your eye makeup (especially if you put them on top of a cream color base). A few other eyeshadow pics are NARS eyeshadow duo in Isolde, Loreal Infallible eyeshadow in Bronze Taupe, and Urban Decays Smog (which is also in the Urban Decay Naked 1 pallete).

Finishing off the look I like to add NYX's Eyepencil in Cafe a warm bronze color that looks beautiful on the waterline. Next Diors Lipgloss in 432, you can't really go wrong with the sheer gold color and gold flecks, and the formula is one of my favorites.

What are your favorite summer time looks?
