Cleanser Overview

7/29/13

The first and one of the most important steps in properly caring for your skin is using the right cleansers. If your cleanser is not removing ALL of your makeup and really cleaning out your pores than it may be time to switch it up. Here's an overview of the cleansers I currently have in my skin care stash. Just like in my Face Mask Overview I have broken these down into categories.

Oily Combo/ Blemish Prone / Break Outs

~ Ren Clearcalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser ~ Similar to the standard clay masks, this cleanser uses French clay to absorb excess oil and purify the skin. It does a great job of cleaning the skin without leaving it dry. It also helps combat current breakouts while also preventing future blemishes. I have been using this every night along with my Clarasonic and my skin has been loving it.

~ Boots Botanics Gentle Cleansing Cream All Bright ~ After a break out or towards the end of a breakout my skin just needs a good exfoliation. I have recently ditched harsh exfoliants that have beads or rice in them and opted for liquid exfoliators. This exfoliating cleanser is great. It has active plant extracts, hibiscus, which contains natural AHA's ( Alpha hydroxy Acids) that mildly exfoliate to help rid the skin of dark spots and unevenness.

~ Boots Botanics Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm ~ even if you have Oily/Combo skin a good cleansing balm is great to have. Removes all of your makeup while also replenishing your skin of its natural oils. This particular balm is lightweight and leaves the skin feeling hydrated and balanced.

Dry /Sensitive Skin

~ Ren Hydra-Calm Cleansing Milk~ I love cleansing milks on my sometimes temperamental skin. This particular one does a great job of just soothing and calming my skin down. It gentle removes dirt and leaves the skin feeling fresh, rejuvenated, and very hydrated. I love using this in the morning.

~ Josie Maran Argan Creamy Oil Cleansing Treatment~ A beautiful cleansing balm that purifies and detoxifies the skin. Argan oil leaves the skin feeling nourished and hydrated. This balm is pretty heavy thanks to the Argan oil, so definitely a must have for drier skin types. I have a full review on this product here if you want more information.

Do you have a favorite cleanser your using at the moment? Would love to know!
