Face Mask Overview

7/16/13

I love face masks. For someone who always wants to find the quickest route to getting something done, face masks are right up my alley. I love that I can place something on my face for 15 mins and once its removed I see immediate results. Here's an overview of all the face masks that I own at the moment. I broke them down into categories just in case your looking for something more specific.

Clay Masks/ Oily Combo Skin/ Blemish Prone/ Break Out

~Queen Helene Mint Julep ~ You can't talk about masks and not talk about this classic green clay mask. This product draws out EVERYTHING out. I don't suffer from blackheads so I cant speak on that, but the odd breakout or pimple cant withstand this mask. You can even use it for spot treatments at night. Now this mask can be very drying so if you have dry skin, I recommend just placing it on the areas that you need and not all over.

~Ren Invisible Pores Detox~ This clay mask is great for days when my skin is clear but just looks and feels congested. This does a great job of just giving the skin a nice deep clean.

~Origins Clear Improvement ~ Another classic...this stuff is hard core, much like the Queen Helene, I use it for when my skin is just acting cray (usually during that time of month). Its an active charcoal mask so it does a great job of bringing those under the skin pimples to the surface.

The Everything Masks/ All Skin Types

~Really Raw Honey~ You can pick this up at your local health food store ( just make sure it says raw). I use this when my skin is feeling dry, dull, maybe even a little spotty. Raw honey is great for a lot of daily skin issues. It has antimicrobial and antiseptic properties which are great for killing bacteria, its packed with nutrients and vitamins, has gluconic acid which helps brighten your complexion, it acts as a humectant which is going to draw moisture into the skin, when mixed with water it releases peroxide properties which help with acne, and the list goes on. Everyone should have this in their stash.

~Bliss Steep Clean~ Another great mask that I use when I know my skin needs a good treatment. Exfoliates the skin, prevents plugged and prominent pores, and it has botanical skin brighteners.

~Ren Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal~Next to the Bliss Steep Clean, this may be my favorite mask I own. It's an orange marmalade that you place on your face and it gently resurfaces the skin, revealing radiant even toned skin.It has quite a few acids and enzymes that do a great job of leaving the skin healthy and glowing.

Hydrating Masks/ Combo & Dry Skin

~Aveda Intensive Hydrating~ I pretty much always use this after a clay mask session. I love how the clay mask removes everything  and then I pop this on and it just replenishes the skin with hydration. Its the perfect mask combo.

~ Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask~ I use this in place of my night moisturizer when my skin is feeling extra dry. The next morning I wake up to lovely, plump, and hydrated skin.

I hope this post was helpful! If you have any questions or suggestions feel free to comment below, I could talk about skin care for days. Love you guys!
