NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer vs. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

7/21/13

Under eye concealers can be difficult to pick out. Trying to find the right consistency , the right coverage, and more importantly the right color.
The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is my perfect under eye concealer. The creaminess hydrates the skin but its not overly creamy that it moves around and creases on me (MAC Select Moisturecover I'm looking at you ). It stays put all day and I don't have to apply a setting powder which is one less layer of makeup for the summer time. And the color is perfect (Caramel), brightens my under eye area with out  making it look grey or white, and blends out so that you don't see a clear difference from my under eye concealer to the rest of my face.

So of course when I first got word that there is a dupe out there I immediately began my search for the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. Now here's  the thing, the color selection at the drugstore always makes me upset. There ARE people who are darker than medium....medium actually isn't dark its medium. So why Drugstore brands tend to stop there is beyond me. With only 6 shades in this line the two dark shades were Cafe and Deep, Cafe was a little too dark for my under eyes and Deep seemed too light and pink toned. I ended up biting the bullet and begrudgingly walked up to the register to pay for Deep, which awkwardly enough I would consider medium. Now the color is a little to light for my personal taste, BUT, you only need a little because it is very pigment and it blends out beautifully and ends up looking really nice under the eyes. The texture and consistency is almost identical to the NARS concealer and it sets with out using a setting powder. Overall I really like the Maybelline Concealer, its a great cheaper option to the NARS.

Now if I was to choose I would have to go with NARS on this one. Solely because of Maybellines's shade options. Maybelline sort that out please. If you can find your shade in the Maybelline concealer go for it and save yourself some money.

NARS or Maybelline? Would love to hear your thoughts!
