The Pamper & Prep

Since the re-launch and re-design of my blog I decided to bring back "The Pamper & Prep" series. These posts will happen every Sunday and will just touch base on how I wind down from my weekend/previous week and prepare for the start of a new week. It can range anywhere from a mani session to what products I'm using in my bath. Today's Pamper and Prep is all about the hair.

Today is wash day and if you are a fellow curly haired natural this task can be daunting. My hair has been straight for a couple of weeks now and I am ready to let my curls run free. Just like my skin sometimes, I felt like my hair needed a really good detox and a dose of moisture. I decided to pick up the Shea Moisture Purification Masque. I used this a looonnngg time ago and I remember loving it, but my curls have changed and of course grown so we will see how this goes. I picked this up at Target for $11.99 which I think is a great price for a hair masque.

It claims to detox, condition, and soothe hair and scalp with Kaolin Clay, essential vitamins, and botanical enzymes. It has a very thin and slippery consistency that is great for detangling the hair and then letting it sit for a deep condition, two products in one. I plan on also mixing in a little extra virgin olive oil for a extra dose of moisture. It has plantain enzyme which helps to alleviate itchiness and irritation, tea tree helps remove buildup , and willow bark extract exfoliates and detoxifies hair and scalp.

So here's the rundown. I will pre-poo/detangle/deep condition with the Shea Moisture Purification Masque (leave on for 30 mins-hour), Co-wash with As I Am Coconut Co-wash, and put in my all time favorite product Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioning Repair Cream and call it a night.

How are you guys preparing for the upcoming week?
