The Pamper & Prep

It's Sunday again and that means relaxing with family, winding down from the weekend, and of course pampering time. The past couple of weeks have been an upward battle with my skin. It's been moody and blemish prone lately. So tonight's skin care pamper is all about detoxing and cleansing the skin.

I decided to whip out my Facial Spa from Conair, this particular one is a few years old and is still amazing. You fill the basin with water and it heats up causing steam to rise into the facial tunnel to steam your face. Steaming is extremely beneficial to your skin ( especially if you are suffering from mild acne) because the moisture softens the surface layer of skin. This helps to release any dead skin cells, bacteria, and dirt that could be causing break outs. If you are steaming properly you also should sweat which helps wash away toxins. It also helps to increase circulation in your skin which should give a nice radiant glow.

After my steaming session, my mask of choice is the REN Invisible Pore Detox Mask, this really does a great job of cleansing the skin without drying it out. My skin always looks noticeably better when I use this. After I finish up the rest of my skin care regimen my last step will be the Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask. It leaves my skin hydrated and plump and the next morning looking radiant. Ending the night with a bit of green tea and a nice book I'm all set to take on the week.

How do you give your skin a good detox?
