The Skincare ~ Treatments & Serums

9/19/13

Serums and treatments should be considered the "add ons" when talking about skin care. Getting the foundation of your routine is very important. Your foundation being cleanser, exfoliating toner, hydrating toner and moisturizer. Once you are satisfied with your foundation then its time to add on serums and treatments (masks) that will enhance your skin care.
Before we get into the products lets talk about the difference between a serum and a treatment. Serums have smaller molecules than say a moisturizer and are meant to penetrate your skin just a little deeper than your everyday cream. They are meant to deposit nutrients into the deeper layers of your skin. So when I am looking for a serum I usually want one that has nutrients and hydrating properties. Treatments are meant to be used for a specific skin care issue for example acne, blackheads, or dehydration. Not to say that a specific treatment wont help another skin care issue you may be suffering with but usually they are meant to target specific issues.

Serums
~ Juice Beauty Antioxidant Serum ~ This product is packed full of vitamins and antioxidants to help with skin cell damage. It also moisturizes the skin thanks to fatty acids and smooths fine lines and wrinkles with peptides. Think of this serum as your daily vitamin for you skin.

~ Caudalie S.O.S Serum ~ With Grape Water and Hyaluronic Acid this a must in the colder months when my skin is feeling extra parched. It is very lightweight and doesn't clog my pores, but still gives me that dose of hydration that my skin desperately needs.

~ Evan Healy Rosehip Treament Facial Serum ~ A recent purchase and I wish I had picked this up sooner. Amazing product that instantly hydrates your skin and gives you a beautiful glow. Packed full of antioxidants and fatty acids this helps with discoloration and blemishes. I've been using this product morning and night and have seen a noticeable difference in my skin.

~ La Roche Posay Effaclar Serum ~ This penetrates deep into the skin to attack and heal any blemishes at its source. I use this when I have a serious break out.

Treatments
~ REN Resurfacing AHA Concentrate ~ I've already talked about this product entirely too much but you can check out this post.

~ Kiehls Acne Blemish Control Daily Skin Clearing Treatment ~ I have also talked about this product quite a bit. Great at helping prevent blemishes, prevent scarring, and just keep everything clear.

~ Kate Sommerville Clarifying Treatment Toner ~ An interesting product that you use as a toner but it works more as a treatment to really exfoliate and heal any current blemishes you may be suffering from.

~ La Roce Posay Effaclar K ~ similar to the Kiehls Acne Blemish Control but I little bit harsher. If yo have sensitive skin this is not for you. Instead of using this all over the face I ten to use it on my cystic acne spots and over night they are gone or significantly reduced.

~ Origins Make a Difference Plus Rejuvenating Treatment ~ One of  my all time favorite skin care products. 1) It smells amazing 2) Not only does it hydrate my skin like no other it really helps with any break outs I may have going on.

My skin care posts are always really long sorry about that! Let me know if you have any questions and I hope this helps!
