FOTD ~ Smoking Cranberries

11/20/13

As a beauty blogger you would think I would have more FOTD posts, right? Yea No. I had one other FOTD on my blog but it "magically" got deleted. Taking pictures of products I can do...all day every day. Taking pictures of myself? Welllll clearly I have some work to do. I understand my reviews and snapshots of awesome products is helpful but actually seeing the product in action is even better. Make a long story short, I will try to incorporate more face shots.
I really wanted you guys to see the beauty of Bobbi Brown's Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation in Warm Walnut 7.5. This stuff is like an instagram filter. I did not retouch the photos and my camera is not the best but trust me when I say my skin looks flawless (and it is not). I used just half a pump and blended it out with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. For concealer under the eyes I used Maybellines Fit Me Concealer in Cafe 30, which since getting a better shade match for myself I have been falling in love. I did a review comparing it to my NARS Radiant Concealer here. As a primer I used Clarins Instant Smoothing Perfecting Touch...heaven in a bottle. I didn't set my makeup with a powder mainly because...I forgot.

Eyebrows were tamed using Annastasias Brow Wiz in Ebony and set with the clear brow gel. Primed my eyelids with Urban Decay Primer potion and then popped on Maybellines Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk a beautiful deep cranberry color. Using The Balm Nude'tude palette which I have not been able to put down all month, I chose Sultry, a medium brown as my crease/transition color. Sexy was then used all over the lid and blended up into the crease (also used on lower lash line). For eyeliner I have been loving Stilas Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Damsel, a beautiful blackened brown. Popped MAC's Orb under the brow bone and on the inner corner and then threw on an obnoxious amount of Origins Ginzing Mascara.

Finished off the look with MAC's Fever a beautiful reddish, magenta colored matte blush and Laura Merciers Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Highlight-01 for the glow factor. Revlons Colorburst Lipgloss in Crystal lilac was the lippie of choice today.

Moral of this story go get that foundation.

  1. This is great! The pictures of you really help. Not only because you're gorgeous, but because they illustrate how you actually applied the products. More of this please! I love that MAC blush too.
