The Monthly Favorites ~ January '14

1/31/14

Well ladies and gents we have successfully made it through the first month of 2014. With January coming to an end that only means one thing, spring is that much closer, and I could not be more ready. The DC area has been hit with some seriously cold weather this winter and I am so ready to put away my boots and whip out the flip flops and floral dresses.
The end of January also marks the end of my " Foundation Free month" woo hoo! I decided to ditch the bases this month because my skin was going haywire. Thanks to my new regimen, my face hasn't looked this good in months. I am very pleased with how quickly my skin made a turn around. I will give you guys an update in the next few weeks but to learn more about my regimen click here. Chit Chat over here are the beauty products that I have been loving this month.

~ L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil ~ *Rant Begins* OK so I have heard so many wonderful things about this product, one of the main comments is that it smells divine. Ok great a shower oil that smells insanely good...yes please. Every time I would go in Sephora to take a whiff of the tester I would borderline choke. The smell was awful. A mix between mold and old almonds? Needless to say I would never purchase it because I couldn't get pass the smell. Earlier this month I decided to try it again but there wasn't a tester so recklessly I smelled one of the non-tester bottles. It smells freaking AMAZING! I literally looked at one of the Sephora workers and said "Did you know this smells like heaven in a bottle?" She laughed and I went on to tell her about all the previous testers. Her words
"Never smell the testers, there old and are constantly opened and closed, the smell is always off". Noted.  Smell aside this is actually a phenomenal product, it lathers in the shower doing a great job of cleansing your body while hydrating. Luxurious is the word I would use to describe this. A must have for this winter weather. *Rant Over*

~ Fresh Body Oil ~ A lovely oil that smells like you have been frolicking in a field of flowers and cotton ( Don't you just love my descriptions). Very light on the skin but it packs a punch in the hydration department. I love putting this on after a late night bath and the next morning my skin is still feeling silky smooth.

~ YSL Volupte Sheer Candy in #12 & Giorgio Armani Flash Lacquer #520 ~ This lip combo is the perfect sheer/semi-bright/ raspberry pink. It just looks great on the lips giving you a bit of color and brightening up your complexion while still looking natural. I could not put this combo down this month.

~ Hourglass N'28 Serum Primer ~ Although I wasn't wearing foundation I still wanted to incorporate a primer so that my blush would have something to adhere to. I really fell in love with this primer, it does a very good job at hydrating the skin and smoothing over any dry patches, while still helping your makeup to last long.

~ Bare Minerals Ready Palette 2.0 in The Nick of Time ~ If I was wearing eyeshadow this month, it was mainly this little duo. The perfect everyday combo.

What were you loving this month?

Xo,
Tanesha
