The Best Beauty Discoveries of 2014

1/2/15

In 2014, I made it one of my "Beauty Resolutions" to shop my stash and shop my stash I did. I found a large amount of oldie but goodies and fell in love with items that had been collecting dust, with that being said, I had a ton of favorites, way too many to compile into an easy to read post. So this year I am doing something a bit different. This post is all about the beauty items I discovered in 2014. I am constantly trying new items, so, for these few products to stick out to me, they were gooood (insert thumbs up emoji here).

~ Burberry Sheer Luminous Fluid Foundation in #12 ~ I was in the market for a new foundation (yea right, I am currently on a foundation ban), I decided to pick this up, and I am so glad that I did. It's a  light foundation that allows the skin to breathe, while still giving pretty decent coverage, I would say light to medium. The texture is interesting, a liquid cream/gel hybrid that blends into your skin (I use my finger tips) effortlessly leaving you with a subtle glow. The glow or luminosity isn't over bearing, it's more of a natural finish with a hint more youth-fullness. I am surprised the beauty world doesn't talk about this foundation more, it really is an underrated product that I think plenty of people would enjoy.

~ Tom Ford Eye Defining Pencil ~ It took me a while to try this liner because when I test overhyped expensive products, I am usually left underwhelmed. A dual ended liquid eyeliner, this product did not disappoint. I was actually surprised at how much I enjoy it. There are a few things that I think really sets this eyeliner apart from the rest. 1. It's the blackest, hands down this is the inkiest black I have seen in a liner 2. It dries matte, which is not super rare for liners but the inky blackness + the matte finish = perfection. 3. The pen is heavy, it actually surprised me and was a bit of a learning curve, but the weight helps with application. 4. The Brush Tip is perfect, its long and comes to a perfect point without any fraying ends or stray bristles. I usually don't like to throw HG status around but uh, yeah, this is definitely my Holy Grail Liquid Eyeliner!

~ NARS Blush in Dolce Vita and Liberte ~ I did reviews on both of these blushes here and here, so I wont bore you with the rave review again, but these blushes are everything.

~ Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Rose Gold ~ I have a separate post coming later this month, because I think this deserves a full review, but this has been one of my favorite highlighters in 2014. The formula and color just works really well with my skin type and skin tone, it gives a beautiful radiance that is subtle which I actually prefer now days.

~Anastasia Brow Pen in Universal Dark ~  2014 was definitely the year of the brows, and with more and more brands releasing different types of brow products, I went a bit crazy. This has been on constant rotation through the year. It gives a nice natural full brow while still looking clean.

~ Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder in #7 ~ Another product I have mentioned on the blog, the review is here. Last year I went on a mission to find the perfect bronzer for my complexion and this is as perfect as it gets.

Have you discovered anything amazing in 2014? Let me know in the comments!
