The Monthly Favorites ~ February '15

3/20/15

We are about a little over a week from April and I am just now putting up  last months favorites. I was thinking about skipping it all together, or making it an Instagram post, but honestly these products deserve a post, so here we are. Its interesting writing a favorites post so late in the month, because most of these products I am still really enjoying well into March!

~ Diorskin Nude BB Cream in Dark 004 ~ I'm pretty sure I purchased this when it first hit the shelves a year or so ago, and I am just getting around to really using it daily. I apply this directly after I moisturize with my fingertips, focusing on the the center of my face then blending out. This gives a nice natural finish, that sits somewhere between matte and dewy. Your skin looks perfected and radiant with out looking over done. With most base products, especially foundations, my skin can show irritation if I am wearing them daily, not with this product. I have been using it for weeks and my skin loves it.

~ The Beautyblender ~ Another product that has been sitting in my stash for a while. I have tried using this with foundation, meh, not a fan, I much prefer the warmth of my fingertips to really melt base products into my skin. I recently decided to test it with blending in concealer * cue angels singing* and there it is ladies and gentleman, I found the purpose of the beautyblender! It blends in concealer beautifully under the eyes and around the face. It gives an effortless look and I can't get enough of it.

~ Dior Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara ~  I'm on my second tube of this and I am tempted to purchase a backup. I love a nice dramatic mascara and this gives me just that. The formula takes a little to get used to, its dryer than most and almost has a tackiness to it. The curve brush helps to really lift your lashes at the base and the bristles comb thru, separating every lash until you have a perfect fan. This can be quite volumizing but I enjoy that it gives a bit of length as well.

~ Make Up For Ever Larger Blender Brush 242 ~ This hand crafted 100% fibre brush is the softest thing you will ever put on your eyelid. I use this brush when I want a wash of color on the lid or a larger amount of eyeshadow in the crease. The brush is on the larger side ( about the size of a MAC 224) so I can't use this for precise application, but for blending color or apply a large amount of color, this is beautiful to work with.

~ Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette ~ Of course this would be the next purchase, after my rave review of the HALP in Dim Light. I still use the dim light option to set my concealer, but I use the other two powders to highlight around the face. Incandescent light usually goes down the bridge of the nose/ cupids bow and radiant light (I love this color) goes on the tops of the cheekbones and sometimes when I'm feeling over zealous, I just douse it all over.

~ Burberry Sheer Luminous Concealer in No.5 Amber ~ This concealer checks all the boxes for me, Light weight, Yellow undertones, and radiant. Paired with my beautyblender it just equals perfection.

What have you been loving? Let me know in the comments.

    1. Yes, I wish companies would do better at making broader shade ranges.
