New Spring Skincare

It's been a little quiet on this end of the internet for a few months, what better way to make a comeback than with a chat about skincare and a haul.

My skin has been rebellious in the last few weeks, mainly because of my laziness, late night coffee binges, and not enough water intake. I've been down this road before when my skin completely acts like a two year old and throws a tantrum, but this time my usual remedies and go to products weren't cutting it. I decided to revamp the skincare cabinet and add a few extras (or replacements) to the mix. Today's post won't be an in-depth review on any of these products, just initial thoughts.

My First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser w/Red Clay was on it's last leg and I wanted to test out a few others on the market. Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel is a repurchase, I used up my first bottle over a year ago and I am now getting around to repurchasing and using another, looking forward to trying this out again, from what I can remember my skin felt lush. Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser, can you tell I went a little Sunday Riley Crazy, Sephora recently started selling this brand online and in select stores and I was anxious to give the cult favorites a try. Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser, this all natural brand pulled me in with the vibrant and beautiful packaging, this cleanser promises to thoroughly cleanse, improve glow while minimizing pores, and protect the skins natural hydration balance, we shall see.

Both of the toners I purchased are from Clinique and I may have been heavily influenced by Caroline Hirons' rave reviews on these products. Clinique's Mild Clarifying Lotion is a gentle but effective exfoliating toner, I'm usually not one to use liquid exfoliators other than my Peter Thomas Wroth Unwrinkle pads, due to my super sensitive skin. The ingredients however, seem to work for me, the aloe vera helps calm and nourish while the salicylic acid sloths away dead skin. The Clinique Moisture Surge Spray, was a present surprise, I was running low on my Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist, and this is a great alternative, it leaves my skin feeling moisturized and prepped form my next step.

I'm a sucker for a good skincare treatment, especially when my skin is breaking out. Sunday Riley Luna and Good Genes have been on my wish list for a while and now I am hoping they both live up to the hype. Luna, is a retinoid oil that is suppose to reduce pore size and improve the appearance of damaged skin, while also helping to calm and nourish inflamed and irritated skin. Good Genes is a Lactic Acid Treatment that helps to promote radiance, while hydrating the skin and reducing the look of hyper pigmentation. Um Yea all those promises, I will definitely keep you updated on the results. Caudalie recently released four new masks, I picked up the Instant Detox, this formula is suppose to bring life to dull tired skin by clearing out the pores and giving a boost of radiance.

An oldie but a goodie, I went back to my first love Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream, after going through two tubes of my Dr. Jart Ceramide cream I thought it would be good to switch it up for spring and summer, and this moisturizer has been doing wonders for my skin. It does a beautiful job of nourishing the skin without looking overly greasy, but more importantly the moisture lasts throughout the whole day or night.

Don't think I will be purchasing any new skincare products for a while, although Caudalie has a few serums I have my eye one on. Let me know if you guys want any specific reviews!
