The Hourglass Modernist Eyeshadow Palettes

When these beauties were released the beauty world went crazy. Honestly, nothing quite like this, as far as esthetic, has ben released before. The beautiful colors and the fantastic packaging made these palettes a must have in my book. The reviews have been mixed with most reviewers being on opposite ends of the spectrum. You either love them or you strongly dislike them. Today I'm breaking down why I love them.

I picked up the palettes Infinity and Exposure (the purple) and I couldn't be happier with my purchases. Infinity is a warm toned matte palette with one beautiful shimmer in the middle and Exposure is a warm purple with mostly shimmers and one satin. I found the shadows to blend easily onto the eyelid with no issues in patchiness and pigmentation. These shadows are very soft, most baked powder products are, if you find you don't like the formula I would stay away from these pallets. Personally, I love a soft shadow, it's easier to blend out giving a sheer wash or you can pack it on for intensity. The packaging is small and compact, easy to toss around in a makeup bag and both shades have been go to's recently. Infinity for a nice and easy day look and Exposure for a night time smokey eye.

Have you given these palettes a try? What were your thoughts?

  1. Hourglass always make the most beautiful products. I've been tempted by these palettes, but i've been wary because of the mixed reviews i've read. They look lovely on the swatches though and I like that they're soft and easy to blend. I'll have to swatch them myself next time I see them!

    1. Yep, I think it really comes down to personal preference. Let me know what you think when you give them a swatch.
