The Wearable Fall Lipstick Edit

11/12/15

I have put away my nude glosses and barely there lipsticks and have started to gravitate to the bolder hues in my stash. The fall season has definitely inspired me to whip out my rose-y mauves and subtle plums. I will be doing a Lipgloss/ Liquid Lipstick edit soon but for now, here are a few lipsticks that I plan to wear well into the holiday season.

First up, the browns. I have always been a fan of the browner nudes so there should be no surprise I had quite a few to choose from. These are the darkest of the bunch and to me the most fall appropriate.

~ MAC Cremesheen in Pillow Talk ~ A creamy chestnut nude with almost a slight hint of orange. I love how comfortable the Cremesheen formula is and the slight gloss it gives to the lips.

~ YSL Rouge Volupte in 25 Soft Beige ~ This color is discontinued but there are still some colors in this formula and I think it is worth a look at. The formula is a light weight satin that glides on to the lips beautifully giving excellent pigmentation.

~ Urban Decay Matte Revolution 1993 ~ The newest addition to my stash and couldn't be happier.A medium cool toned brown with a slight hint of mauve, this color screams 90's. The lipstick is a dream to apply and the matte formula doesn't cause or accentuate dryness on me.

I love a good mauve lipstick, it adds just a little something to your everyday look with out going full on bold pigment.

~NARS Dolce Vita ~ I'm sure you guys no my love affair with everything NARS Dolce Vita and this lipstick is no different. A more sheer take on my usually lip options, I still love this for an every day go to color. It's my lip color with a little extra juicy-ness.

~ MAC Cream in Your Coffee ~ I love the name of this lipstick! It is a deeper creamier version of Dolce Vita with a lot more pigment.

Finding a plum on the sheerer side of pigmentation can be a little difficult, but I think these two are a great alternative to the bold lip options.

~ MAC Capricious ~ This almost looks a little reddish brown in the tube, but swatched on my lips it definitely pulls more plum. The lustre formula allows this color to be bold without being in your face.

~ MAC Plumful ~ My recent fave! I'm obsessed with this lipstick currently and I am almost sure you will be seeing it again in my next favorites. It's a beautiful brightening mauve-y plum that is pretty pigmented for a lustre. It gives the perfect amount of color to my complexion.

Clearly, I'm currently going through a lipstick phase, if you have any fall friendly recs...I'm all ears.
