2015 Beauty Discoveries

1/12/16

Last year was great for new beauty bits. I feel like I stepped outside of my comfort zone with the brands and products that I usually gravitate towards and added a few surprisingly great additions to the beauty stash. Here are to my favorite beauty discoveries of 2015.

~ Dior Diorskin Nude Air Serum Foundation in 060 ~ Hands down my favorite and probably most used foundation of 2015. I remember wanting to try this product as soon as it launched...I  mean look at it...it's beautiful. But more importantly the "serum" foundations had taking over the beauty world and I  wanted to try one out that would work for my dry/sensitive skin. I love the way this looks! Never cake-y or drying and it doesn't break me out or cause any irritation. It blurs imperfection's while giving off  a beautiful glow that doesn't look forced...just natural. I know many people had mix feelings about this product...but I could not put this down last year. Want more details? I did a full review here.

~ Sephora Collection Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer in 13 Creme Caramel ~ A full review of this is coming up on the blog soon, but spoiler alert...I love it. I discovered this towards the end of the year but it has been a great edition to my concealer stash. The color I have is brightening and the concealer it self blends out beautifully. I've heard a few reviews comparing this to my beloved NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer....that's a stretch... they are two very different concealers but both are winners in my book.

~ Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette ~ I had this product for a while but really didn't start using it consistently until last year. I use it almost every time I do my makeup and can't imagine my routine without at least Dim Light to set my under-eye concealer.

~NARS Blush in Liberte ~ I dedicated a post to this blush back in 2014...and here we are...still going strong. It really suits my complexion perfectly. It gives a dose a color and jolt of glow that just works for any look that I am creating.

~ Anastasia Self Made Palette ~  I picked this palette up from Sephora during the VIP sale, mainly because every time an Anastasia Palette is released, it is soon after completely sold out. I wanted to know what the hype was about...and wow...ok I get it. Before purchasing this palette, I was in a serious makeup rut, but I have since been so inspired every time I pull this out. The color selection is unique and beautiful and allows us neutral lovers to get a little creative without stepping too far out of our comfort zone. A full review will be coming your way a little later...but I am excited for the next palette she releases and would consider myself a convert.

~ Tom Ford Eye Defining Liquid Liner Pen ~ I promise you I wanted to not like this. I wanted to be able to say...meh...don't waste your coin on this overpriced liner. Nope. It's good...no it's like really good. I would say, if you are a liquid liner kinda gal and don't mind spending a little money on a high end product...than this is the liquid liner for you. The dual ended sides gives you twice the options and I use both equally. The ink is jet black and dries down to a matte finish and it is extremely easy to use. The brush tip stays pointed and doesn't fray and the felt side never tugs or skips.

~ MAC Plumful and Lipstick Queen Big Bang Illusion Gloss in Infinite ~ The combo that I just couldn't stop using. Mac Plumful all over the lip plus the Illusion Gloss in Infinite placed directly in the center, just gives a beautiful almost brightening look to the face and lips.

~ Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Azaela ~ This color is so complicated and hard to explain once its on the lips...but trust me...you need it. One of my Bff's even ran out and picked up a tube of their own...its that good.

Stay tuned for my 2015 Skincare Discoveries coming up soon! Please let me know what you were loving last year in the comments.
