January Goals


        Now that the New Year has begun, it's hard for me not to sit down and create a list of changes or resolutions that I want to accomplish this year. But as I have gotten older, I've learned that smaller goals with a large impact can become powerful alterations to my life. This month I plan to make small simple changes, some of which will be repeats from my November  Goals, but my main focus this month is consistency!
       I really want to continue solidifying a morning and an evening routine. I was doing good for about two weeks in November and then life got hectic and before you know it, I was waking up five minutes before I had to be out the door and going to bed way later than I wanted to. So, new month, and we are going to try it again! Once I get into the groove, I really do enjoy waking up at 5am, I know it sounds like death, but it leaves me so much time to enjoy my yoga, devotional, and breakfast. I have the chance to be present in each stage without running around like a crazy person. It sets me up to be more productive and alert.
       Journaling has been a fail, like...haven't even attempted in months kinda fail. I'm not really sure what the problem is, I love the idea of it but for some reason, I can't seem to be consistent with it. I plan on picking up the Five-Minute Journal by the end of this month. I like the simpleness of it and not feeling obligated to record my whole day. Will keep you guys updated on this.
       Start my reading list. This year I would like to read at least 12 books, one for every month. I usually can get through two or three books in a month but I wanted to give myself grace and not feel pressured. The first book I am going to start reading is Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes, the creator of Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, and executive producer of How to Get Away with Murder, none of which I watch, but the book seems perfect for the start of the new year.
      I had quite a few beauty wish list picks for this month, but I'm going to narrow it down to the Marc Jacobs Beauty Under(Cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer. I'm not a huge primer user, but anything that promises a bit of extra hydration during this time of year I'm willing to try.
