The Mid-Week Facial

2/3/16

By Wednesday, I'm tired and possibly slightly annoyed it's not Friday yet. I need a pick me up. An energy boost. Something to help me successfully pass the finish line of a productive and hopefully not too stressful week. Wednesday's are reserved for the quick but nourishing pamper session. I don't usually go all out like my Sunday evening's but a good once over with a balm cleanser and a few extras really puts me in a relaxed state.
Usually I'm a break down makeup with oil/balm kinda girl and then go in with a clay cleanser. The weather has other plans. It's been too cold and my skin has been too dry for a clay cleanser. So, I  remove makeup with the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm and then follow up with Sunday Riley's Blue Moon Tranquility Cleansing Balm....this stuff is heavenly. The SR balm is so good that if I am not too tired I will let it sit on my face as a moisturizing mask. My skin is left feeling hydrated and nourished. Depending on the situation I may go in with a sheet mask (The Dr. Jart ones are my favorite) or if I am dealing with some breakouts, I will reach for Peter Thomas Roth Therapeutic Sulfur Masque.
I still grabfor my Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads for my chemical exfoliation and then follow up with the delicious Caudalie Moisturizing Toner. If you have sensitive skin and are in need of a hydrating toner...the Caudalie option is wonderful. Finally I slap on my usual eye cream, Perricone Hypoallergenic Firming Eye Cream. I've used this product for a few years now and I am looking for something new, if you have any recommendations let me know!
For serums/ oils I usually opt for Sunday Riley Luna, nourishing and effective and then finish off the facial with Kate Sommerville's Goat Milk. I love this moisturizer, it's both lightweight and extremely moisturizing. Lights Candles. Reads a book. See, Wednesdays aren't that bad.
